Owatonna, MN– The Nebraska Wesleyan University men's tennis team came up short in its Minnesota road trip, falling 4-3 to Bethany Lutheran College on Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Prairie Wolves (1-4) captured the doubles point as the duo of
Riley Voss and
Gavin Nichols prevailed 6-4 at the number two spot, while the pairing of
Zac Briggs and
Ian Armbrust notched a 6-2 triumph in the third slot. Briggs and Armbrust are undefeated together at 2-0.
Ashton Rames was just one of two Prairie Wolves to earn victory in singles, securing a 5-7, 6-4, 10-8 victory at the fourth spot in the lineup to earn his first career win as a Prairie Wolf.
Sam Rademacher also earned victory at the number six spot, winning 6-4, 6-2.
The Vikings (8-4) won the other four singles matches. Voss was defeated by a 6-4, 6-2 tally atop the flight. Nichols was edged 6-1, 3-6, 6-10 at the second spot. Briggs was topped 7-5, 6-2 at No. 3 singles, with
Glenn McChristian getting bested 6-3, 6-1 at the fifth slot.
