LINCOLN, Neb. — American Rivers Conference honors continued to roll in for Nebraska Wesleyan as Sam Clements and Eli Etherton were named the league's Men's Field and Track Athletes of the Week on Monday.
Clements, a sophomore from Elmwood, Nebraska, captured the shot put title at the Loper Tune-Up hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney, delivering a personal-best throw of 56 feet, 1 1/4 inches (17.10 meters). The mark ranks No. 11 nationally in NCAA Division III and stands second in the conference this season. It is his second career indoor weekly honor.
Etherton, a senior from Lincoln, Nebraska, posted a season-best 8.04 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles at the Nebraska Tune-Up. The time moved him to No. 6 in Division III and marked his fourth career indoor weekly award, his first since 2023.
Nebraska Wesleyan returns to competition next weekend for the American Rivers Indoor Conference Championships hosted by Luther College on Friday and Saturday.
