ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Through five meets, Nebraska Wesleyan has thrown, jumped, vaulted, and ran to some of the top individual marks and event rankings in the country. At the national level, NWU has posted 24 top 50 marks, with five ranking in the top 10. Both represent an improvement from last week when the team had 22 top 50 performances and three top 10 placements. The Black and Gold also have 13 event groups ranked in the top 25. As a program, the Prairie Wolves continue to rewrite the record books, as
Chloe Mooberry earned the third farthest long jump in school history at 5.71 meters, while
Reed Emsick dropped the school's fourth fastest 800 time, while claiming gold at 1:53.54. NWU has claimed 18 program top 10 marks and look to add to the total this weekend.
HURDLE U
Nebraska Wesleyan has continued its legacy as one of the top hurdle programs in the country. NWU's male hurdle squad is currently ranked second, with
Eli Etherton sitting at seventh. Etherton is followed by
Connor Halde at 27th, with
Connor Plahn and
Jacob Young tied for 30th. On the women's side,
Rachel Smith (11th) and
Jadah Laughlin (46th) headline a squad that ranks 17th nationally. Freshmen
Ryleigh Waldstein and
Kaylee Taylor round out the top four.
THROWING IT AROUND
Nebraska Wesleyan's throws have been dominant through the first half of the season, with both the men's and women's shot put and weight throws ranking inside the top 10 in this weeks event squad rankings. The Prairie Wolf women check in with the third ranked weight throw and fourth ranked shot put squad. The men currently sit at seventh in shot put and eighth in weight throw. Individually

DIRECTOR OF TRACK & FIELD AND CROSS COUNTRY DERRICK MCKENZIE PROFILE
Derrick McKenzie is in his third season as the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country at Nebraska Wesleyan. In his first two seasons, Nebraska Wesleyan has 26 NCAA qualifying performances, 12 NCAA All-Americans, one individual national championship and two national runner ups. The Prairie Wolves have won nine individual conference championships and broke numerous school records. Prior to being named Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, McKenzie served as an assistant coach at NWU, where he coached sprints and relays.
