WHEATON, Ill. — Nebraska Wesleyan University's wrestling team used the final multi-day tournament of the regular season as a proving ground, competing against a deep national field at the Pete Wilson Invitational on Friday and Saturday, hosted by Wheaton College.
The Prairie Wolves finished 26th among 30 teams in the two-day event, with several wrestlers stringing together wins through the consolation bracket in what served as the second-to-last meet of the 2025–26 regular season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
At 125 pounds, Quinton Chavez opened his weekend in convincing fashion, earning an 11–1 major decision over a Mount St. Joseph University opponent in the first round. Chavez battled through a challenging bracket and finished the tournament 2–2, providing valuable points for Nebraska Wesleyan.
