Box Score LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan closed its regular season home slate in style, rolling past Simpson 6-1 on Senior Night at the LSF Sports Complex. The Prairie Wolves honored Jacob Balfany, their lone senior in the lineup, with a dominant performance across singles and doubles.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Balfany set the tone early, teaming with Sam Rademacher for a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles. The duo's victory sparked a clean sweep in doubles play, with Gavin Nichols and Tyler Blair securing a 6-1 win at No. 2, while Ian Armbrust and Glenn McChristian cruised 6-1 at No. 3.
The momentum carried into singles. Balfany fell closely to Javier Robles Solis 6-4, 6-7(3), [10-7] in a tight third-set tiebreak. Nichols and Rademacher followed with straight-set wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Blair, Armbrust, and McChristian sealed the deal with commanding performances, none surrendering more than a game in their matches.
The victory moves NWU to 6-6 on the season, with three regular-season matches remaining before the conference tournament. Balfany, playing in his final home dual, improved to 7-5 in doubles on the season.
