LINCOLN, Neb. (October 18th, 2024) - After a tough 21-14 loss at Simpson last weekend, Nebraska Wesleyan returns to Abel Stadium this Saturday for an early afternoon matchup against Coe College.

Kickoff for Saturday's game between the Prairie Wolves and Kohawks is set for 1:00 p.m. at Abel Stadium, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Nebraska Wesleyan will live stream the game and carry live stats. 

ABOUT THE PRAIRIE WOLVES

Nebraska Wesleyan (2-3, 1-2 A-R-C) aims for its second consecutive conference home victory after defeating Buena Vista 34-21 in their A-R-C home opener on October 5th.

Sophomore quarterback Connor White leads the Prairie Wolf offense, throwing for 1,166 yards and 10 touchdowns over five games with a 62.16% completion rate. His primary target, Cole Siems, tops the team in receptions (29) and receiving yards (367). In the run game, Nathan Athouris has rushed for 144 yards and one touchdown. As a unit, NWU is averaging 21.4 points per game.

On defense, the Prairie Wolves allow 28.2 points per game. Key contributors include Juan Donoso, who leads the team with 29 total tackles and three sacks, and Tony Militti, who has recorded a team-high 16 solo tackles. NWU's defense has also been effective in turnover situations, recovering six fumbles this season.

Now in his 29th season, Brian Keller is Nebraska Wesleyan's all-time winningest coach with a career record of 131-137. Keller's accolades include leading NWU to a share of the 2000 GPAC championship and coaching 39 All-Conference players and 46 All-Americans since the program transitioned to NCAA Division III.

Established in 1896, NWU football has amassed over 500 wins and claimed 22 conference championships. The Prairie Wolves are also a national academic powerhouse, ranking seventh among all football programs for CoSIDA Academic All-Americans.

ABOUT THE KOHAWKS
Coe College enters the matchup with a perfect 6-0 record following a thrilling 16-13 double-overtime win over Central College last weekend. The Kohawks are led by ninth-year head coach Tyler Staker.
