MADISON, S.D. - Nebraska Wesleyan struggled to find any offensive rhythm Saturday night, managing just 89 yards of total offense in a 52-0 loss to Dakota State at Jim Dittmar Memorial Stadium. The Prairie Wolves were held to six first downs and went 2-for-17 on third down, while being limited to 25 rushing yards and 89 passing yards.
Nebraska Wesleyan struggled to generate consistent offense from the opening drive Saturday night. The Prairie Wolves moved to their own 40-yard line on their opening possession before a sack and two incompletions forced a punt. NWU managed just six first downs and 89 yards of total offense, including zero rushing yards, while going 2-for-17 on third down.
The Prairie Wolves reached Dakota State territory only a handful of times throughout the night but were unable to turn those opportunities into points. Keaton Erdmann completed 6-of-13 passes for 51 yards, while Casen Carroll finished 7-of-19 for 38 yards. Carrol also ran 10 times for a team-best 11 yards. Dakota State's defense recorded seven sacks, including multiple sacks that stalled NWU drives.
Dakota State built a 38-0 halftime lead before adding touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters. The Warriors finished with 713 yards of total offense, while NWU was held scoreless for the second time this season.
