Track and Field Hosts Annual Prairie Wolf Invitational

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After an unusual start to the season due to unfortunate weather conditions, the Nebraska Wesleyan track team was finally able to put the majority of their roster to the test and compete at the Prairie Wolf Invitational on Friday, January 19.
  • In the first track event of the day, senior Claire Kallhoff ran the 69th fastest time in Division III and finished 1st in the 5000m with a time of 19:16.76.
  • Isabella Hogue kept things going by recording a remarkable 56.92-second 400-meter dash. Her first-place mark now sits third best in all of Division III. Teammate Bre Geary joined Hogue with a sub-one-minute finish (58.22) and took home third place.
  • One of the few runners who started their season last week, distance runner Gabby Thomas, continued her success, this time in the 800m. Thomas finished 3rd out of 15 competitors with a time of two minutes and 21 seconds.
  • Morgan Conner left 23 other runners in the dust in the men's 200m, as he put down a 22.17 second mark to earn fourth place. Conner's time holds as the 16th best in Division III.
  • Freshman Conner Ross continued to make strides in his first year as a Prairie Wolf. Ross ran the men's 3000m in 9:06.27 and finished third.
  • To close out the women's running events, Natalie Cummins, Gabby Thomas, Raegan Levi, and Delaney Vacek teamed up in 4x400m and ran a 4:06.52, which was good enough for second place.
  • Gabe Anderson, Morgan Conner, Austin Nauert, and Carter Siems had a very impressive showing in the men's 4x400m. Nebraska Wesleyan's A-team took home gold with a 3.19.73 finish.
  • Eric Lenz launched the shot put 15.84m to collect third place. Lenz participated in a field of 17 other athletes.
