Prairie Wolves Tie for Sixth in A-R-C All-Sports Trophy with Three Conference Championships

Men's Basketball, Men's Swimming and Women's Swimming each win A-R-C titles in 2025-26

LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska Wesleyan University finished tied for sixth in the 2025-26 American Rivers Conference All-Sports Trophy standings with 85.1 combined points. The Prairie Wolf men placed fourth in the Elmer Hertel Men's Sports Championship Trophy, one spot better than last year's fifth-place finish.

Points are awarded based on each institution's order of finish across the 23 sports the A-R-C sponsors. Nebraska Wesleyan competes in 22 of those 23.

Three A-R-C championships headlined the year for the Prairie Wolves.

Men's Basketball won its sixth A-R-C regular season title, going 13-3 in conference play. Head coach Dale Wellman was named A-R-C Coach of the Year. Nick Howard and Christian Winn earned first team all-conference honors.

Men's Swimming won its second A-R-C Swimming and Diving Championship at the meet hosted by Luther. Going into the final event, the 400 freestyle relay, NWU trailed by three points. A win would clinch the title. The Prairie Wolves won it, touching the wall first and edging the host Norse by three.

Women's Swimming closed out an undefeated dual meet season by winning the program's first A-R-C championship. NWU broke five relay school records on the season. Head coach Kyle Hunt and his staff were named Women's A-R-C Coaching Staff of the Year.

Men's Golf placed second at the A-R-C Championships with three top-10 individual finishers. Jackson Lapour was third, Jacob Cosimano seventh and Travis Tilford eighth.

Dance took second at the A-R-C Competitive Dance Championship, with Ella Bonness named First Team All-Conference.

Men's Indoor Track and Field placed third at the ARC Indoor Championships behind several strong individual showings. Sam Clements won the individual shot put title. Reed Emsick was named co-Men's Rookie of the Meet after earning all-conference finishes in both the 800 meters and the distance medley relay. Ghaith Taha placed second in the 60 meters, Eli Etherton second in the 60 meter hurdles and McClain Meyer second in the 400 meters. The 4x800 relay team of Alex Ienn, Lucas Steuter, Coleman Keck and Brennan Steenson also placed second.

Women's Cross Country, Women's Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field, Men's Cross Country, Men's Soccer and Men's Outdoor Track and Field each posted top-five finishes in their respective A-R-C standings.
