Football Hosts Luther on Wesleyan Weekend

LINCOLN, Neb.- Following a loss to Coe College, Nebraska Wesleyan looks to get back on track against Luther College on Wesleyan Weekend.

MEET THE HEAD COACHES
Brian Keller is in his 28th season as the head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. He has compiled a record of 128-129. 
Joe Troche is in his second season as the head coach at Luther College. He has compiled a record of  is 2-11.

WHEN NEBRASKA WESLEYAN HAS THE BALL
Nebraska Wesleyan's offense enters Saturday averaging 19.75 points per game and 356.8 yards per game. Quarterback Carter Terry enters the game with a 57.94% completion percentage. He has thrown for 806 yards with five touchdowns and six interceptions. Nebraska Wesleyan's offense features a talented duo at the running back position. Nathan Athouris has rushed for a team high 277 yards on 49 carries. He is currently averaging 5.4 yards per carry and has three rushing touchdowns on the season. Trystin Myers has rushed for 216 yards on 47 carries. He is currently averaging 4.2 yards per carry and has scored one rushing touchdown on the season. Nebraska Wesleyan's offense features two receivers that have over 180 yards receiving. Cole Siems leads the team in receiving yards with 309, receiving touchdowns with three, and receptions with 22. Jaheim Felder has caught 11 passes for 185 yards and has two touchdowns on the season.

WHEN NEBRASKA WESLEYAN IS ON DEFENSE
Nebraska Wesleyan's defense has allowed an average of 26.50 points per game and 400.8 yards per game. Caleb Kyes leads the team in total tackles with 24. Kyes also leads the team in solo tackles with 18. Kyes and Ivan Eloume have both forced one fumble. The Nebraska Wesleyan defense has picked off five passes this season. Aashton Kirkland, Jaydon Tarohocker, Eli Mackowski, Quinn Keller, and Chevalier Curry each have one interception. 

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN KICKING GAME
Jacob Martinez will be the starting long snapper. Jahrran Paces will be the holder. Henry Walter will be the starting kicker. Walter had his lone field goal attempt of the season blocked and is 7-11 on PATs. Max Brinker will punt. Through three games, Brinker has punted 18 times with a long of 71 yards and an average of 36.61 yards per punt. Victor Guzman will return punts. Anthony Carpenter and Cole Quercioli will return kick offs. 

WHEN LUTHER HAS THE BALL
Luther's offense enters the weekend averaging 22.0 points per game and 282 yards per game. Quarterback Beau Cornwell enters the game with a 52% completion percentage. He has thrown for 598 yards with six touchdowns and four interceptions. Vershon Brooks has rushed for a team high 130 yards on 37 carries. He is currently averaging 3.1 yards per carry and has not yet scored a rushing touchdown. The Norse have two receivers with over 150 receiving yards. Tommy Kaktis has caught 13 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns on the season. Samuel Zegler-Evans has caught 19 passes for 151 yards.

WHEN LUTHER IS ON DEFENSE
Luther's defense has allowed an average of 45.67 points per game and 458.7 yards per game.  Tyler Ragan leads the team in total tackles with 29. Brayden Daly leads the team in solo tackles with 12.  Xander Franquero leads the team with one forced fumble.  Brayden Daly and Jermarion Williams each have one interception on the season.

LUTHER KICKING GAME
Patrick Fleming will be the starting long snapper. Sean Medcalfe will be the starting kicker.  He has made one of two field goal attempts and is 7-7 on PATs.  Beau Cornwell will punt. Through three games, Cornwell has punted 18 times with a long of 54 yards and an average of 34.44 yards per punt. Vershon Brooks will return punts and kickoffs.
