Track and Field Runs Away From Competition at American Rivers Conference Indoor Championships

HOW IT HAPPENED

The women's and men's track teams both earned a fourth place overall finish at the American Rivers Conference Indoor Championships.
National Champion sprinter Isabella Hogue made her return to the track in impressive fashion. Hogue won the conference title in the 60 meter dash running a time of 7.58. Kynzi Booth claimed sixth place for the black and gold squad running a 7.83.
NWU was represented well in the men's 60 meter hurdles. Eli Etherton took home gold with a time of 8.11 and Marshall Chasek finished fifth with a 8.33.
The sprint crew continued their tremendous weekend with Alexa Koza and Isabella Hilger in the 400 meter dash. Koza snagged third place with a time of 58.53, while Hilger ran 58.95 earning fifth place.
Kyle Dickinson and Garrett Lenners both walked away from Storm Lake with silver in the 400 meter dash and 800 meter dash, respectively. Dickinson was one of six runners in the event to clock in under the fifty second mark.
Ellie Akough broke the school record in the weighted throw with a toss of 18.47 meters. Akough placed second in her first ever American Rivers Conference meet.
Eli Mackowski shined for the Prairie Wolves in the high jump earning fourth place.
