Wrestling Splits Contests at Prairie Wolf Duals

HOW IT HAPPENED

On Saturday, the Nebraska Wesleyan men's wrestling team competed in the Prairie Wolf Duals, which included Westminster College (Missouri), Concordia-Moorhead, and MSOE. The Prairie Wolves would beat the Blue Jays but lose to the Cobbers and Raiders.
The Prairie Wolves came out of the gates with a chip on their shoulders in the opening duel of the day. NWU grabbed a 14-4 lead after winning three of the first four bouts, with Isaiah Graves and Jimmy Macias both winning by tech fall.
After the Blue Jays won three of the following five matches, the Prairie Wolves ended the dual winning 29-22.
NWU failed to score many team points against Concordia-Moorhead, but there were numerous close matches. Julian Long got the dual started with a pin in his 125-pound class battle.
Jared Gallub won a tech-fall at 149 pounds, while Zeth Gerkensmeyer won a 4-1 decision at 174 pounds for the Prairie Wolves.
The third dual was against Milwaukee School of Engineering. The third dual was highlighted by Jared Gallub winning his match at 149, and Zeth Gerkensmeyer winning his match at 174. The Prairie Wolves came up just short in the third dual losing 20-33.
