Men’s Tennis Bested In Spring Opener

LINCOLN, Neb, (February 26, 2022) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's tennis team fell in its spring opener inside of NWU's Knight Fieldhouse. The Prairie Wolves were bested by Morningside, 9-0, then by Northwestern, 7-2. 

In the opening match of the day, Morningside took all three doubles points. NWU's duo of Jacob Balfany and Max Rademacher dropped a narrow match at No. 2 Doubles in the tiebreaking set. The Mustangs again took each point of singles action. Ryan Carey battled at the top spot but fell in three sets.

Against Northwestern, Nebraska Wesleyan got on the board with a point in No. 2 Doubles. Balfany and Rademacher would not be denied in their second match of the day, winning 8-6. In singles play, Daniel Bernhardson tallied another point for the Prairie Wolves at No. 5 Singles. Bernhardson earned a fought victory in three sets, including a tiebreakers in the second set to force the winner take all third set.
