Top Ranked Teams Best Wrestling

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (January 27, 2022) – The Nebraska Wesleyan wrestling team returned to the mat for its competition since December 18 with three duals, two against the top two teams in the nation. NWU fell to Luther, No. 1 Loras, and No. 2 Coe.

The Prairie Wolves started the day off with Luther. Against the Norse, Christian Keller got the team on the board with a pin. Keller's win tied the match up at 6-6 but Luther would win the next two matches. Collin Quandt put NWU back in the win column with a win at 157 lbs. Quandt picked up a 6-4 decision and made it a 14-9 match score. However, Luther finished without a loss the rest of the way and won the dual 38-9.

The next two duals, Nebraska Wesleyan faced top-ranked Loras and second-ranked Coe. The Duhawks defeated the Prairie Wolves 54-0 and the Kohawks came out on top of NWU, 55-0.

Match results for each dual are listed below. Nebraska Wesleyan returns to action tomorrow at the Pete Willson Invite in Wheaton, Illinois, matches begin at 11 a.m.
