LINCOLN, Neb. (April 22, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's track and field hosted the annual Prairie Wolf Invitational on the Woody Greeno Track at Abel Stadium. NWU won nine events on the day. It was the first home outdoor meet since 2019 due to the COVID-19 Global Health Pandemic.

Keegan Rich won the men's javelin throw with a mark of 139'-0" to start the day off for NWU. The 4x100-meter relay team of Chase Keller, Matt Winter, Kodjo Atikpohou, and Eli Etherton won the race in a time of 42.94. Ethan Schmidt raced to a victory in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.95. Rudy Vrtiska cruised to a first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.63 before Norbert Weijenberg dominated the 5,000-meter run. Weijenberg won the race with a time of 15:43.09.

Tessa Hoffman won the triple jump with a performance of 36'-03.50" for a win in the field events. McKenna Marsh won the day's first running event as she took first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:34.07. In the 800-meter run, Gabby Thomas finished first with a time of 2:18.77. Leah Treffer closed out the day with a win in 10,000 with a time of 37:31.51.

Nebraska Wesleyan will have a select number of student-athletes compete in the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa on April 23 and 24.
