Central College Puts Blemish On Men’s Tennis Home Finale


LINCOLN, Neb, (March 27, 2021) - Nebraska Wesleyan men's tennis (1-5, 1-5 A-R-C) fell to Central College (4-2, 4-2 A-R-C), 8-1, in its final home match of the 2020-2021 season. 

NWU picked up a point in doubles action with a win at No. 1 Doubles. Ryan Carey and Max Rademach teamed up to claim the point with an 8-7 victory, which included winning the tiebreaker. The Prairie Wolves narrowly missed the point in No. 3 Doubles as Hayden Retzlaff and Cole Lohoefener fell in a tough tiebreaking set. 

In singles action, Max Rademacher was edged out of a win in the decisive third set. He won the first set, 6-3, but then dropped the second set, 6-3, and the deciding third set, 10-3. 

Ryan Carey won four points in the second set at No. 1 Singles. Will Olson claimed two points in the first set and one point in the second set as Cole Lohoefener took four points in the first set at No. 4 Singles. At No. 5 Singles, Vihn Le recorded two points in the second set and another one in the second set and at No. 6 Singles, Hayden Retzlaff won four points in the first set before getting one point in the second set.
