Alex Angele used a fielder's choice to plate the first run then Paul Georget drove in another run with an RBI single. Back-to-back RBI singles from Aaron Nichols and Mason Bennet made it a 4-1 Nebraska Wesleyan lead and loaded the bases when Derek Kolbush was hit by a pitch to score Nichols. Dubuque cut the lead down to two runs with a pair of runs in the sixth then added one more in the top seventh before Jackson Cummings recorded a strikeout for the final out.
