Kohawks Score Late, Take Two From Prairie Wolves


LINCOLN, Neb. (March 20, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan baseball team (2-12, 0-8 A-R-C) fell as Coe College (11-2, 7-1 A-R-C) rallied late to win game one with a walk-off home run, 3-2, and took game two, 4-2. 

Game One Recap
A two-out two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning by Coe allowed them to win game one. NWU broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning when Derek Kolbush belted a solo home run to right field. Angel Reynoso threw 6 ⅔ innings and only allowed six hits in the outing. 

Game Two Recap
Two runs in the top of the seventh inning put the Prairie Wolves down by one but another late run a half-inning later by the Kohawks proved too much to overcome. Nebraska Wesleyan scored its first run of the game on a leadoff home run to left field by Kaleb Knox. Three batters later, Noah Unger scored off of a Paul Geroget single to make it a one-run game before the Kohawks' plated their fourth and final run.

Nebraska Wesleyan returns to Lincoln to host Wartburg for a four-game series beginning on Friday, April 2.
