Nationally-Ranked Track and Field Teams Sweep Buena Vista Triangular

STORM LAKE, Iowa (February 6, 2021) - The nationally-ranked Nebraska Wesleyan track and field teams swept the Buena Vista Triangular. The fourth-ranked men's team scored 134 points to claim victory and the sixth-ranked women's team scored 106 points to secure the win.

On the men's team, Chase Keller won the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.13. Ben Christenson won the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.67 and Marcus Thimm won the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.81. The 800-meter run winner was Garrett Lenners with a time of 2:00.53 and Colby Karr won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:13.23. Marshall Chasek won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.57.

Dalton Schmitt claimed the long jump with a mark of 20'-10.75" and the triple jump with a mark of 42'-09.75". The shot put was won by Kyle Ott with a toss of 45'-08.5" and Seth Knapp won the weight throw with a mark of 54'-09.25"

The 4x400-meter relay team of Christenson, Rudy Vrtiska, Gabe Anderson, and Kyle Dickinson won the race with a time of 3:25.47.

For the women's team, Bre Geary won the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.00 and the long jump with a mark of 16'-08.75". Aspen Rolfes won the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.54. Isabella Hilger won the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.66 and Gabby Thomas claimed the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:20.94. Tessa Hoffman claimed the triple jump with a mark of 35'-00.25.

NWU's 4x400-meter relay team of Hilger, Rolfes, Megan Carley, and Camryn Larsen won the event with a time of 4:01.24.

Nebraska Wesleyan travels to Pella, Iowa for the Central Triangular on Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13.
