ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (October 1, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's cross country teams competed in a field with five nationally and 13 regionally ranked teams at the Brissman/Lundeen Invitational in Rock Island, Illinois. The NWU men's team finished 10th and the women's team finished 11th. 

Norbert Weijenberg led the Prairie Wolves in the men's 8K race. Weijenberg was 35th with a time of 26:23.5. Kellen McLaughlin ran a time of 26:48.9 and Grant Reid clocked a time of 26:55.5, both runners finished in the top 54. Colby Karr trekked the course in a time of 27:01 and Noble Valerio-Boster ended with a time of 28:21.1 to round out NWU's top five.

In the women's race, Gabby Thomas led Nebraska Wesleyan with an 18th place finish. Thomas clocked a time of 23:21.4. McKenna Marsh and Camryn Larsen both finished in the top 46. Marsh had a time of 24:07.7 and Larsen finished with a time of 24:19.1. Josephine Blatny turned in a time of 24:53.6 with Thea Seibel running the course in a time of 25:20.4 to round out the top five Prairie Wolf runners.
