Wrestling Drops A Pair of Road Duals


PELLA, Iowa (January 30, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan wrestling team dropped a pair of road duals, in Pella, Iowa, to the University of Dubuque (1-2, 1-2 A-R-C) and Central College (2-0, 2-0 A-R-C). It was the first road matches for NWU on the 2020-2021 season.

The Prairie Wolves were led by Eron Haynes, the sixth-ranked 133-lb wrestler in NCAA Division III. He scored major decisions in both matches, the first by a score of 11-2 and the second by a score of 16-7. On the season, Haynes remains undefeated at 4-0. NWU's Van Schmidt tallied a pin against Dubuque in 3:43. It was his third consecutive victory of the season before the streak was snapped in the next dual against Central College.

What's Next
Nebraska Wesleyan travels to Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Saturday, February 6 for two conference duals against No. 14 Coe College and Luther College. The first duak is set for 4 p.m. with the next dual set for 5:30 p.m.
