Wrestling Falls In Season Debut

LINCOLN, Neb. (January 23, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan wrestling team dropped two American Rivers Conference matches in its season debut at Snyder Arena. In the first match, NWU fell 29-21 to Simpson College then dropped a 37-17 decision to Buena Vista. The Prairie Wolves received two wins Eron Haynes, Van Schmidt, and Collin Quandt. Quandt recorded both his wins by pin.

Simpson 29, Nebraska Wesleyan 21
The Prairie Wolves rattled off wins in four consecutive matches against Simpson, highlighted by pins from Eron Haynes at 133 in 3:49 and Collin Quandt at 157 in 6:44. Nebraska Wesleyan also picked up a win at 184 when Daniel Alozno earned an 8-7 decision. Joining Haynes, Quandt, and Alonzo with wins were Van Schmidt with an 8-3 decision at 141 and Jaden Duran with a 9-5 decision at 149.
