ATLANTA – Caitlin Navratil received an appropriate honor to complete her storied basketball career when she was named to the 2020 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA)/NCAA Division III Coaches' All-American Team that was announced on Thursday (March 19) by the WBCA.  Navratil was selected as a WBCA/NCAA III honorable mention All-American.
 
The WBCA All-American team is selected by a committee of WBCA member coaches in each of the respective division.  Ten players were chosen on the WBCA NCAA III Coaches All-American 1^st-Team with 30 players receiving honorable mention selection.
 
Navratil (Littleton, Colo./Dakota Ridge) becomes only the third player in NWU women's basketball history to earn All-American honors and the first since 2012.  Shea Rasmussen was an NAIA II honorable mention All-American in 2012 and Taci Laws was a NCAA III honorable mention All-American in 1994.
 
A senior guard, Navratil was the top scorer in the American Rivers Conference and ranked 3^rd in NCAA III at 25.3 points per game.  She ended her senior year with 567 points in only 24 games, breaking her previous single season scoring record from last year.
 
Earlier this week she was named 1^st-Team All-West Region by D3hoops.com, the third straight season she was an All-Region honoree.  She was selected to play in the WBCA/Beyond Sports NCAA III All-Star game which was unfortunately canceled.  Navratil is a four-time All-Conference honoree, earning 1^st-Team each of the past three years.
 
Navratil closes her career as the record holder for points with 1,940, a total that is 400 more points than any other NWU player in program history.  She also set the career record for assists with 336 and ranks 2^nd in steals with 250.  Her 163 made 3-pointers are 2^nd on the NWU all-time charts.
