Box Score INDIANOLA, Iowa –
Caitlin Navratil added to her record setting career breaking two more school records on Wednesday night, but it wasn't enough as Simpson College shot past Nebraska Wesleyan 109-84 in American Rivers Conference women's basketball action on Wednesday night (Feb. 19) at Cowles Fieldhouse in Indianola, Iowa.
Navratil broke her own school record of single season points, finishing with 24 points to give her 548 for the year going past her total of 525 from last year. She also set the NWU career record for assists with four in the game to move past Samantha Porter for that record.
Simpson College was way too much for the Prairie Wolves to handle on offense, scoring a season-high 109 points and going over the century mark for the second time this year against NWU. The Storm shot an amazing 58.3 percent from the field, hitting 11 3-pointers in the game.
A total of six different Simpson players were able to score in double figures with a real balanced attack. The Storm scored at least 25 points in all four quarters with a big third quarter scoring 31 points to break open the game.
NWU had a productive offensive performance , making more 3-pointers than the Storm finishing 12-28 from beyond the arc.
Senior guard
Mikenzie Delgado joined teammate Navratil as the big offensive performers for the Prairie Wolves in the dynamic duo of the backcourt. Delgado scored 20 points, making 4-9 from 3-point range and a perfect 4-4 at the free throw line. Navratil ended with 24 points on 10-19 shooting, hitting 4-6 from long range.
Paige Ravenscroft came off the bench to score 10 points joining the senior guards in double figures.
McKenzie Teten,
McKenna Griess and
Sami Tucker each added eight rebounds, with Griess leading the way with eight rebounds.
Nebraska Wesleyan now prepares for their final game of the season on Saturday when they host 10
th-ranked Loras College on Senior Day.
