INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Nebraska Wesleyan wrestling team went 1-3 at the American Rivers Conference duals that were held on Saturday at Simpson College.
NWU opened the day with a 24-18 victory over the host school Simpson, to earn their second conference win of the season.
The Prairie Wolves then faced a pair of top ten teams falling 48-3 to No. 8 Loras College and 41-9 to No. 10 Coe College. NWU ended the day with a 43-3 loss to Loras.
Eron Haynes went 3-1 on the day to lead all the Prairie Wolves individually. He was the lone NWU wrestler to win versus Loras and Luther. Against Coe,
Justin Hennessy recorded a pin and
Ryan Smales posted a win.
In the victory over Simpson, Haynes, Smales, Hennessy,
Cody Fielder,
Matthew Fricke and
Alex Kerr all got wins.
