HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Nebraska Wesleyan men's tennis team went 0-3 on their annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C. NWU dropped matches to Mount Union (0-9), Baldwin Wallace (0-9) and Gordon College (2-7). A fourth match versus Randolph College was cancelled due to poor weather in the area.
The trip started on March 5 against Mount Union University. Mt Union improved to 4-1 on the season with the 9-0 win over the Prairie Wolves. All six singles matches were straight set victories for the Raiders, with the most competitive match coming at No. 5 singles where
Matheus Bustamante lost 7-5, 6-3 to Zach Teffner.
Against Baldwin Wallace on March 9, the Prairie Wolves faced a high powered opponent. Baldwin Wallace moved to 9-1 overall on the year with the 9-0 win, but NWU did not go down without a fight.
At No. 2 singles,
Adam Olson took Nathan Katz to three sets before eventually falling 6-2, 5-7, 10-8. Bustamante also had a three set loss at No. 5 singles in scores of 6-3, 3-6, 10-6.
NWU finished their trip with a 7-2 loss to Gordon College on March 10. Nebraska Wesleyan picked up their first point of the trip with a victory at No. 3 doubles.

Nate Adams defeated Caven Bell and Jacques Erasmus 8-3 to make the score 2-1 heading to singles play.
The Prairie Wolves got another point with a win at No. 6 singles.
Christian Cannon won 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7) over Kris Marineau in the first singles match to get completed. Unfortunately, Gordon won the other five singles matches to earn the 7-2 win.
Nebraska Wesleyan will now prepare for Iowa Conference play when they open IIAC dual action on March 24 at Central College.
