The Nebraska Wesleyan football team travels to Decorah, Iowa this Saturday (Oct. 7) to face Luther College in Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action. Kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and Norse is set for 1 pm on the brand new blue turf at Carlson Stadium.
NWU is coming off a heartbreaking 49-42 homecoming loss to Loras College last Saturday. The loss was the fifth a row for the Prairie Wolves as they dropped to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in IIAC play.
Luther is off to their best start since the 2005 season and is one of two remaining teams in the IIAC that has not lost a conference game. The Norse have a 3-1 overall record and 2-0 mark in conference action.
Nebraska Wesleyan's defense will be put to the test this Saturday facing a Luther rushing attack that leads the conference averaging over 300 yards per game. Using a triple option rushing game, Luther set a new school record with 608 yards of total offense last Saturday in the win over Buena Vista.
Last season the Prairie Wolves picked up their first IIAC win of the season when they traveled to Decorah, Iowa and beat Luther 27-24.
