SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Prairie Wolves men's tennis team ended the 2016 regular season with a 7-2 loss at Morningside College on Monday (May 2) in a makeup GPAC tennis dual in Sioux City.

Nebraska Wesleyan closes out the regular season portion of their schedule with a 7-14 overall record and 0-5 mark in GPAC play. The Prairie Wolves will be the No. 6 seed in the GPAC Postseason Tournament that begins on Friday (May 6) in Fremont. NWU will face the No. 3 seed Doane College at 9:00 am.

The Prairie Wolves picked up two victories in singles action in the 7-2 loss. At No. 5 singles,
Adam Olson beat Aksay Krishna 6-1, 6-1 in the straight set win. Another straight set victory occurred at No. 6 singles with
Matheus Bustamante beating Hunter Renn 6-2, 6-4.

Morningside won the other four singles matches in straight sets, but NWU was very competitive in those matches. In the No. 1 singles showdown between Pedro Pinassi and
Trevor Milburn, Pinassi came out on top 6-1, 7-6 (7-3).Â
Gabriel Sellmer fell 7-5, 6-2 ta No. 3 singles and
Hale Breit dropped a 7-5, 6-3 decision as NWU battled with the Mustangs. The other singles match saw Danny Graves defeating
Pedro Bethlem 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2.

The Mustangs opened the dual with three wins in doubles matches. The No. 1 doubles dual was a back and forth match as Graves/Stoll finally edged Milburn & Bethlem 9-8 (7-4) for the victory.
