Nebraska Wesleyan women's and men's tennis teams made quick work of Midland University on Wednesday (Apr. 9) at the Nebraska Tennis Center in Lincoln.  The NWU women won 8-1, while the men were 9-0 winners.

NWU women remain undefeated in GPAC play as they improve to 7-8 overall and 3-0 in conference play to extend their GPAC winning streak to 25 matches.  It is also the 12th straight win for NWU over Midland in women's tennis. 

The Prairie Wolves took all three doubles matches winning 8-4 at No. 1, 8-0 at No. 2 and 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.  In singles action, Hannah Husmann continued her strong play moving up to the No. 1 spot as she won 6-0, 6-1.  Natalie Cech won at No. 2 singles as her opponent retired with Jennifer Heywood winning 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.  Abby Litterick was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at No. 4 singles while Courtney Harder won 3-6, 6-2, 10-4 at No. 5 singles in the most competitive match of the day.  Midland got their lone win at No. 6 singles with RaMonda Harris winning over Jaime Bridges 6-2, 6-0.

The Prairie Wolves men picked up their first GPAC win of the year with a 9-0 sweep over the Warriors.  NWU took all three doubles matches winning 8-6, 8-1, 8-0.

In singles action, the Prairie Wolves won all six matches in straight sets.  Lucas Asnis was dominant at No. 1 singles in 6-0, 6-0 win, Gui Plentz won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles as the top two players for NWU continued to roll in their first year.  Zack Hicks was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at No. 3 singles, Rene Torti won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4, Trevor Milburn won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and Seth Shimerda was a 6-0, 6-3 winner at No. 6 singles to close the match.
