Nebraska Wesleyan improved to 4-0 on the season as the Prairie Wolves rolled to a 99-42 victory over the Illinois Institute of Technology on day one of the 25th Annual Snyder Classic men's basketball tournament in Lincoln, Neb.
NWU shot 51.4 percent in the first half and built up a 49-18 lead at halftime then cruised in the second half to remain perfect on the season.
Just over three minutes into the game the Prairie Wolves jumped out to a 13-0 lead as they held the Scarlet Hawks (0-4) without a basket. NWU then extended their lead to 27-5 with 12:24 remaining and never looked back.
Four players scored in double figures for NWU who shot 53.6 percent from the field for the game, but hit just 22-34 at the free throw line.
Trevor Johnson led the way with 19 points on a perfect 5-5 shooting from the field. Johnson also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.Â

Andrew Mitteis and
Travis Giesselmann all scored 12 points to round out the NWU players in double figures.
A total of 13 players scored in the game for Nebraska Wesleyan, with 47 of the 99 points coming from the bench.
Illinois Tech was led by Anthony Loss who scored 15 points.
NWU will play Barclay College on Saturday to conclude the Snyder Classic. Barclay lost to Luther College, 96-49 in the first game on Friday.
