LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska Wesleyan men's basketball senior guard Seth Newton (Cañon City, Colo.) has earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, the organization announced Tuesday. The recognition marks the second consecutive year Newton has earned the award.
To be eligible, student-athletes must hold sophomore academic standing or higher, carry a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and serve as a key contributor to their team.
Newton started all 25 games this season, averaging 8.8 points per game in 30.5 minutes per night. The masters of business administration student shot 44.6% from the field and 37.8% from three-point range, providing reliable production and efficiency for the Prairie Wolves throughout the year.
Newton is now eligible for national CSC Academic All-America consideration, with those teams set to be announced in April.
