It was a successful debut for Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball head coach
Britni Fett as she guided her Prairie Wolves to a 70-50 opening night victory over MacMurray College on Friday night (Nov. 15) at the Webster University Classic in St. Louis.
NWU built up a nine point halftime lead then outscored MacMurray by 11 points in the second half to earn the victory. The Prairie Wolves used a 13-2 run in the first half early as MacMurray scored just two points over a seven minute stretch of the first half.
The Prairie Wolves shot 44.8 percent from the floor and held MacMurray to just a 26.8 shooting percentage as they connected on 15-56 for the game.
Mariah Trinh came off the bench to lead the Prairie Wolves connecting on 5-8 from 3-point range for 19 points. Sophomore forward
Courtney Cook had a solid game in the paint with 12 points and nine rebounds on 6-9 shooting.
Felicia TeKolste scored nine points, playing only 10 minutes before fouling out and freshman
Kylee Ashley made a solid debut for the Prairie Wolves with eight points, six rebounds and six blocked shots.
Ashley Jenkins scored 16 points for MacMurray.
NWU will be right back in action on Saturday as they play the host school Webster University.
