COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – Nebraska Wesleyan men's golf finished tied for third at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate Showcase on Tuesday, matching Iowa Western Community College at 7-over-par 871 over 54 holes. Senior Brayden Schram led the Prairie Wolves with an eighth-place individual finish.

NWU finished just three strokes behind second-place Park University and 43 strokes behind tournament champion Hutchinson Community College in the 10-team field. The top-three finish is the second straight to open the season for the Prairie Wolves after placing third at last week's Blue River Invitational. It marks the fourth consecutive season Nebraska Wesleyan has opened the year with back-to-back top-three finishes.

Schram shot an even-par 72 in the final round to finish tied for eighth at 1-under 215. After opening the tournament with rounds of 72 and 71 on Monday, Schram made four birdies Tuesday to finish 1-under for the tournament and record the best finish of his senior season.

Schram tied Harrison Weddell and Jacob Cosimano for Nebraska Wesleyan's low round of the day at 72. Weddell and Cosimano each finished tied for 12th at 2-over-par 218, giving the Prairie Wolves three individual top-15 finishers.

Weddell opened with rounds of 75 and 71 before firing an even-par 72 in the final round. He finished his final eight holes 4-under par. Cosimano also shot an even-par 72, carding 36 on each nine.

Weddell and Cosimano both have back-to-back top-15 finishes to open the season. Weddell finished fifth at the Blue River Invitational, while Cosimano placed 12th.

Nebraska Wesleyan's 871 was a 52-stroke improvement from last season's performance at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate Showcase. All five Prairie Wolves who competed in last year's tournament returned to the lineup this season, with each player improving his score.

Schram made the biggest improvement, shooting 23 strokes better than last season. Weddell and Cosimano each improved by 12 strokes, while Travis Tilford improved by nine strokes and Jaiden Ronke by two.

Ronke finished tied for 18th at 5-over-par 221 after opening with rounds of 73 and 72 before shooting 76 in the final round. Tilford finished 28th at 11-over-par 227 after rounds of 74, 75 and 78.
