Softball Wraps Up Home Slate Against Buena Vista and Dubuque

Lincoln, NE - Nebraska Wesleyan softball will wrap up its 2026 home slate against Buena Vista and Dubuque this week.

DATE, LOCATION, LIVE STREAM & LIVE STATS
Nebraska Wesleyan host Buena Vista at 3:00 and 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15th, and Dubuque at 1:00 abd 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 18th. Alll four games will be played at Sandhills Global Youth Complex, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Nebraska Wesleyan will live stream each game and carry live stats.

ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
The Prairie Wolves are 11-16 overall, and 2-4 in the American Rivers Conference. On Monday, Nebraska Wesleyan rode a dominant pitching effort from Eva Fahrnbruch to take a 3-1 victory over College of Saint Mary. The Black and Gold hope to build off of Monday's win as the team welcomes Buena Vista and Dubuque to Lincoln this week. The Prairie Wolves hold a slash line of .271/.361/.356, with 131 runs scored on 197 hits. The Prairie Wolves have posted 44 extra base hits, including seven home runs. Jenna Kimberling leads the team with 31 hits and has also driven in 27 RBIs while scoring 24 runs. Addyson Maxell is another offensive weapon for NWU, totaling 24 hits and posting 11 RBIs. Defensively, Nebraska Wesleyan holds a .964 fielding percentage. The Prairie Wolf pitching staff has combined for a 4.30 ERA and 1.61 WHIP while earning 58 strikeouts, Eva Fahrnbruch holds an 8-7 record with an ERA of 3.87. 

CELEBRATING SUCCESS
On Wednesday, Nebraska Wesleyan will honor last season's American Rivers Conference Softball Tournament Championship team. After placing third in the regular season, Nebraska Wesleyan defeated Luther, Wartburg, and Central to capture the program's first-ever conference tournament title, and qualify for the NCAA tournament for the second time in school history. Nebraska Wesleyan would conclude the season with a 32-13 record.

SENIOR NIGHT
Saturday will see Nebraska Wesleyan honor its 2026 senior class of Jaedyn Ratzlaff, Kenzie Heedum, and Jenna Kimberling. During their time at NWU, the trio has helped the Black and Gold to a 90-58 record, which includes two 25 win seasons, an A-R-C tournament championship, and one appearance in the NCAA tournament. To date, Jenna Kimberling has a life time slash line of .307/.482/.387, with 123 total hits, 28 extra base hits, and 13 home runs. Defensively, Kimberling has maintained a .956 fielding percentage. Kenzie Heedum holds a lifetime slash line of .251/.295/.326, with 52 total hits, Heedum has also terrorized the basepaths with 19 steals and has a .941 fielding percentage. Jaedyn Ratzlaff transfered to Nebraska Wesleyan prior to last season and has made an impact in the pitching room, holding a 3.57 ERA, and posting seven strikeouts, while holding opposing hitters to a .305 batting average.

HEAD COACH COURTNEY MEDINA
Courtney Medina is in her first season as the head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan and holds a 11-16 record. Medina comes to Lincoln after serving three seasons at Western Nebraska Community College. 

SCOUTING BUENA VISTA
Buena Vista enters Wednesday with a 6-19 record. The Beavers have lost their last five games. Buena Vista holds a .247/.302/.324 slash line, with 71 runs scored on 160 hits. Defensively, the Beavers carry a .949 fielding percentage, with pitchers combining for a 6.60 ERA. Buena Vista is led by Tammy Utley.

Nebraska Wesleyan and Buena Vista have met 26 times. The Prairie Wolves hold a 16-10 all-time series lead.

SCOUTING DUBUQUE
Dubuque enters this week 14-10 overall and 1-3 in the A-R-C. The Spartans will face Simpson on Tuesday, April 14th at 1:00 abd 3:00 PM. The Spartans hold a slash line of .297/.413/.393, with 131 runs scored on 197 hits. Defensively, the Spartans carry a .957 fielding percentage, with pitchers combining for a 3..07 ERA. Dubuque is led by Kristen Duross, in her second season.
