ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan has been on a tear as of late, winning five consecutive games by a combined margin of 376-320, with three of the wins coming by 10 or more points. The Black and Gold currently own a 15-5 record, while posting a 10-1 mark in American Rivers Conference play. The Prairie Wolves currently occupy the top spot in the conference with a crucial five game stretch upcoming. The key to NWU's success has been complimentary play on both offense and defense. The Prairie Wolves average 73.2 points per game, with a shooting percentage of 44.3. This includes a .346 mark from beyond the arc. The Prairie Wolves are effective at drawing fouls and have drained 221 of 336 free throw attempts. Defensively, NWU stifles opponents, allowing 67.4 points per game. Christian Winn is a key offensive weapon, who generates offense in a multitude of ways. As a scorer, Winn averages 13.3 points per contest, while also being a key distributor with 60 assists.
Seth Newton is a jack-of-all-trades player, and makes an impact in every phase of the game. Newton is NWU's top rebounder with 151 boards, and is tied with Seth Mosser for the team lead in made threes with 38. Newton has also recorded a team best 37 steals.
HEAD COACH DALE WELLMAN
Dale Wellman is in his 12th season as the head coach of Nebraska Wesleyan Men's Basketball, having led the Prairie Wolves to numerous accomplishments, including a national championship in 2018. Under his guidance, the program has seen five A-R-C Regular Season titles and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. Wellman boasts an all-time record of 229-81.
