NEBRASKA WESLEYAN MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
The Nebraska Wesleyan men started fast at the Concordia Early-Bird on December 13th, 2025, with 2023 national champion
Eli Etherton cruising to victory in the 60 meter hurdles, while
Ghaith Taha ran the second fastest time in school history while winning the 60 meter dash.

Hudson Vetrovsky impressed in their first collegiate heptathlons, posting the third- and fourth-best scores in school history. The team will look to carry its momentum onward to this weekend and throughout the rest of the season.Â
NEBRASKA WESLEYAN WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
The Nebraska Wesleyan women had an equally impressive day with Pentathletes
Kaylee Taylor and
Sarah Kolterman placing the fifth and 10th best scores in program history. In the field,
Chloe Mooberry jumped 5.48 meters to climb into seventh in school history, while freshmanÂ
Angelina Schademann cleared 3.40 meters to slide into fifth all-time. Meanwhile
Kaelyn Means tossed a lifetime best 16.54 meter weight throw. On the track,
Rachel Smith and
Jadah Laughlin earned personal best times of 9.01 and 9.14.Â
THROWING IT DOWN
Among countless impressive performances, throwers
Emmilly Berglund and
Sam Clements stole the show at the Concordia Early Bird. Berglund threw a national best 14.02 meters while claiming gold in the women's shot put. For her efforts, Berglund garnered American Rivers Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week honors, while also earning national accolades as USTFCCCA Women's NCAA Division III National Athlete of the Week.
Sam Clements did his part on the men's side, launching a 17.01 meter shot put, which was good enough to win the event and secure the second farthest throw in the country. Clements was named the American Rivers Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week.Â
DIRECTOR OF TRACK & FIELD AND CROSS COUNTRYÂ DERRICK MCKENZIE PROFILE
Derrick McKenzie is in his third season as the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country at Nebraska Wesleyan. In his first two seasons, Nebraska Wesleyan has 26 NCAA qualifying performances, 12 NCAA All-Americans, one individual national championship and two national runner ups. The Prairie Wolves have won nine individual conference championships and broke numerous school records. Prior to being named Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, McKenzie served as an assistant coach at NWU, where he coached sprints and relays.Â
