Emily Jasa & Averie Hike win A-R-C Athletes of the Week

Hike, Jasa Sweep A-R-C Weekly Awards

LINCOLN, Neb. - After an undefeated weekend in Minnesota, Nebraska Wesleyan locked up both the American Rivers Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards. Junior forward Averie Hike took home the offensive honor, while sophomore defender Emily Jasa secured the defensive award for the week ending Sept. 7.

Hike was the catalyst in NWU's 5-2 victory at Northwestern (Minn.), assisting on two goals and adding one of her own, the 14th of her Prairie Wolves career. Her tally, the third of the match, officially went down as the game-winner. The Papillion native logged 172 minutes across two matches as NWU's lead attacking threat and has started all four matches this season.

Jasa continued her strong presence on the back line, anchoring a defense that secured the Prairie Wolves' first shutout of the season in a 0-0 draw at Concordia (Minn.). The sophomore also made her mark offensively, scoring her first career goal in the Northwestern win.

The pair of honors mark NWU's first conference weekly awards of the 2025 season. Nebraska Wesleyan sits at 1-2-1 overall, the seventh-best record in the A-R-C heading into this week's action.
