LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan designated player Lyndsey Roth earned First Team CSC Academic All-America honors, the College Sports Communicators announced today. Roth, a senior Health & Fitness Studies major with a 3.89 GPA, becomes the ninth NWU softball player in program history to achieve this distinction.
Roth becomes the 193rd Academic All-American in NWU Athletics history. Roth is NWU's second First Team CSC Academic All-American this year, after Zach Weis earned the honor for men's soccer in the Fall. This is the 41st consecutive year NWU has had an Academic All-American. NWU is ranked 12th among all schools in the country regardless of division for Academic All-Americans and fifth among all NCAA Division III schools
Roth's 2025 season was one for the record books, both on and off the field. At the plate, she batted .431, leading the Prairie Wolves with three home runs and 34 RBIs. Her 15 doubles etied the single-season program record. Roth also paced NWU with a .659 slugging percentage and drew 31 walks, contributing to an impressive .538 on-base percentage. She added two triples, tallying 81 total bases.
Beyond the box score, Roth's impact was undeniable. As a consistent presence in the lineup, she started in all 45 games, registering 53 hits in 123 at-bats. Her clutch hitting proved vital in numerous NWU victories.
