LINCOLN, Neb. - The Nebraska Wesleyan women's golf team finished 13th at the Kaitlyn Erickson Doane Invite, a two-day event held at Wilderness Ridge (Day 1) and Pioneers Golf Course (Day 2). The Prairie Wolves posted a 36-hole score of 741 (+173), improving by 23 strokes in Round 2.
How It Happened
Day 1 at Wilderness Ridge proved challenging, with NWU carding a 338 (+98). Senior Madison Jackson led the Prairie Wolves with an 82 (+11), battling tough pin placements, windy conditions, and fast greens. O'Brasia Amos, Haley Blackstone, and Lauren Hayes all followed with an 100 (+29).
The team rebounded on Day 2 at Pioneers, trimming strokes across the board. Jackson again paced NWU with an 84 (+13), finishing T-16th overall (82-84—166, +24). Amos shaved 12 strokes off her first-round score, closing with an 88 (+17) for a 188 total (+46, T-58th). Blackstone improved by nine shots, carding an 91 (+20) to finish at 191 (+49, 62nd).
Lauren Hays and Shea Meridith rounded out the lineup, with Hayes cutting four strokes off her Day 1 score (100-96—196, +54). Merideth also showed resilience, bouncing back from a tough opening round.
No. 23 Bellevue won the team title (+78), while Doane's A squad (+79) took second. Morningside and Dakota Wesleyan tied for third (+105).
