SCOUTING NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan earned a pair of series splits against Simpson and Loras last week and brings a 21-8 record into Wednesday afternoon's doubleheader. The Prairie Wolves have posted a .340/.405/.458 slash line, with 172 runs scored on 254 hits. Defensively, the Prairie Wolves hold a .960 fielding percentage, with 546 put outs. Nebraska Wesleyan's pitching duo consisting of
Elise Warneke, and
Eva Fahrnbruch who have combined to win 20 games while recording 103 strikeouts. As a team, NWU has recorded nine shut outs.
HEAD COACH MARY YORI
Head Coach
Mary Yori is in her tenth season as the head coach of Nebraska Wesleyan's softball program. Yori was hired as Nebraska Wesleyan's first full time head softball coach in June of 2015. In ten seasons as head coach, Yori has complied a 198-147 record and was the 2016 AD3I All-Independent Co-Coach of the Year in her first season leading the Prairie Wolves. Yori coached Nebraska Wesleyan to its first NCAA tournament appearance in 2022. Last season, Yori helped lead the team to a 26-11 record and an A-R-C tournament appearance. Coach Yori also had five athletes named to the A-R-C All-Conference Team, with
Lyndsey Roth and
Val Gerlach also earning NFCA All-Region Third Team honors.
NEBRASKA WESLEYAN SOFTBALL TRADITION
Nebraska Wesleyan's lone conference championship occurred in 1986. That season saw Nebraska Wesleyan post an 8-4 conference record in the NIAC. Nebraska Wesleyan's only NCAA tournament appearance occurred in 2022. That season saw Nebraska Wesleyan go 23-16 overall, and 8-8 in American Rivers Conference Play.

Paige Davison on Saturday. The 2025 senior class has dedicated their time and effort into elevating NWU's softball program. The four year senior class enters this week with a record of 91-53, which includes an NCAA tournament appearance in 2022, which was the first in school history. In total the class combined for three first team, four second team, and one honorable mention All-Conference selections, while recording four placements on the Region IX third team. The 2025 class also had success in the classroom, garnering seven CSC Academic All-District placements, and combining for eight Academic All-Conference honors.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
Buena Vista enters this week with a 7-17 record. The Beavers have lost their last four games. Through 24 games, Buena Vista has posted a slash line of .289/.350/.372, while scoring 104 runs on 173 hits. Defensively, the Beavers have a .932 fielding percentage with 425 put outs. Buena Vista's pitchers have combined to post an ERA of 7.41. The Beavers are coached by Tammy Utley, in her second season.
