LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska Wesleyan swimmers Lydi O'Neil, Elena Lazzaretto, Emily Maw, and Sam Fox were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday, highlighting their success in competition and academics.
To qualify, swimmers must hold a 3.50+ GPA and meet competitive benchmarks—either competing in five meets or placing top-eight at a conference championship.
O'Neil, a sophomore psychology major, broke the NWU program records in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle this season. Lazzaretto, a junior biology major, scored in seven events at the A-R-C Championships, including an individual championship in the 400 IM. Maw, a sophomore history-social science education major, had a top eight finish in the 100 Breaststroke at the A-R-C Championships. Fox, a junior biology and psychology double major, secured top eight finishes in the 100 and 200 backstroke.
Select Academic All-District selections advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with winners announced April 23.
