Lincoln, NE. (March 7, 2025) - Fresh off a 4-3 victory over Carleton College, Nebraska Wesleyan softball heads to Florida to compete at the Space Coast Games.

LOCATION
Nebraska Wesleyan will play 12 games over the course of seven days. Each game will be played in Melbourne, Florida.

SCOUTING NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan enters the Space Coast Games after posting a 3-1 record at the mid-February Mankato Dome Games. The Prairie Wolves posted 16 runs on 28 hits during the tournament, while recording a slash line of .304/.379/.435. Defensively, NWU has allowed 12 runs, while holding a fielding percentage of .943, with 78 put outs. Nebraska Wesleyan received strong pitching from Elise Warneke and Eva Fahrnbruch, as the pitching duo combined for a 3-1 record, while posting a 2.42 ERA, and recording 10 strikeouts. 

HEAD COACH 
HEAD COACH MARY YORI
Head Coach Mary Yori is in her tenth season as the head coach of Nebraska Wesleyan's softball program. Yori was hired as Nebraska Wesleyan's first full time head softball coach in June of 2015. In ten seasons as head coach, Yori has complied a 180-140 record and was the 2016 AD3I All-Independent Co-Coach of the Year in her first season leading the Prairie Wolves. Yori coached Nebraska Wesleyan to its first NCAA tournament appearance in 2022. Last season, Yori helped lead the team to a 26-11 record and an A-R-C tournament appearance. Coach Yori also had five athletes named to the A-R-C All-Conference Team, with Lyndsey Roth and Val Gerlach also earning NFCA All-Region Third Team honors. 

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN SOFTBALL TRADITION
Nebraska Wesleyan's lone conference championship occurred in 1986. That season saw Nebraska Wesleyan post an 8-4 conference record in the NIAC. Nebraska Wesleyan's only NCAA tournament appearance occurred in 2022. That season saw Nebraska Wesleyan go 23-16 overall, and 8-8 in American Rivers Conference Play. 

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
Wisconsin Lutheran enters this week with a 0-4 record. The Warriors were defeated by UW_Superior, 9-2, in their last game. Through four games, the Warriors have scored two runs, while putting forth a slash line of .153/.210/.173.. The Warriors are coached by James Flegel, in his sixth season.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST WISCONSIN LUTHERAN
Nebraska Wesleyan will face Wisconsin Lutheran for the first time on Sunday, March 9th. The two teams will meet again on Friday, March 14th.
