LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan's Elise Warneke is making a habit of shutting down opponents and collecting conference awards in the process.
The graduate right-hander earned her second American Rivers Conference Pitcher of the Week honor this season after a pair of dominant performances, including a no-hitter against Grinnell. Over 12.0 innings, Warneke posted a 0.67 ERA, 0.42 WHIP, and held hitters to a .083 average.
Her week started with a complete-game win over #21 Midland, where she allowed just three hits and two runs while striking out four. Then, she blanked Grinnell in a five-inning no-hitter, fanning five and walking two. With those wins, she improved to 10-2 on the season.
Warneke now has two A-R-C Pitcher of the Week awards and two A-R-C Athlete of the Week honors this year. Opponents are hitting just .189 against her this season.
The Prairie Wolves (16-4) return to action Wednesday at home against Bellevue.
