ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
The Concordia Early Bird is the first of Nebraska Wesleyan's nine regular season indoor meets. The Prairie Wolves are coming off an impressive 2025 season, which saw
Eli Mackowski and
Noah Smith earn American Rivers Conference titles, while
Natalie Cummins earned runner-up in the 60 meter dash.
Morgan Conner,
McClain Meyer,
Connor Plahn, and
Jackson Feauto also earned all-conference honors with a third place finish in the 4x400 meter relay. At the national level,
Noah Smith,
Sam Clements,
Emmilly Berglund and
Eric Lenz all qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championship meet. Smith would go on to claim seventh and Berglund secured fourth. Nebraska Wesleyan has produced at least one All-American in each of the last nine indoor national meets. The Prairie Wolves return a talented roster which includes

DIRECTOR OF TRACK & FIELD AND CROSS COUNTRY DERRICK MCKENZIE PROFILE
Derrick McKenzie is in his third season as the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country at Nebraska Wesleyan. In his first two seasons, Nebraska Wesleyan has 26 NCAA qualifying performances, 12 NCAA All-Americans, one individual national championship and two national runner ups. The Prairie Wolves have won nine individual conference championships and broke numerous school records. Prior to being named Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, McKenzie served as an assistant coach at NWU, where he coached sprints and relays.
