LINCOLN, NEB.—Nebraska Wesleyan junior setter Elecea Saathoff was named to the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Women's Division III Region IX All-Region Honorable Mention team on Wednesday morning. She becomes the first Prairie Wolf to earn AVCA All-Region recognition since Addie Thomas earned All-Region First Team in 2023.
The Lincoln native put together one of the most complete and efficient seasons by a setter in the region. Her 10.12 assists per set ranked 17th in NCAA Division III, while her 1,052 total assists finished No. 21 in the country. Saathoff's ability to control tempo, spread the floor, and elevate NWU's attack made her the engine behind a 17–10 Prairie Wolves campaign.
Saathoff contributed far beyond her setting duties. She delivered 29 aces from the service line and added 232 digs, fourth-most on the roster, as she continued her growth as a six-rotation player. She recorded seven double-doubles in 2025, highlighted by a career-best 60 assists in a 3–1 win at Bethel (Minn.) on September 5.
Through three years, Saathoff has accumulated 3,107 career assists, placing her well within striking distance of the Nebraska Wesleyan record of 4,040. She also enters her senior year on pace to become just the second Prairie Wolf in program history to surpass 4,000 assists.
Saathoff owns or is rising quickly up several program charts, including:
- Career Assists: 3,107 (4th all-time)
- Career Assists Per Set: 9.58 (currently 5th)
Her postseason résumé continues to grow as well. Saathoff earned a spot on the 2025 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) All-Conference Team, the third straight All-Conference selection of her career.
Nebraska Wesleyan finished the 2025 season with a 17–10 overall record, securing its fourth straight 17-win season A-R-C tournament appearance.
With one year remaining, Saathoff returns as one of the most experienced and productive setters in Region IX, and a player positioned to rewrite the NWU record book.
