LINCOLN, Neb. - Sophomore kicker and punter
Jace Winkler of Littleton, Colorado, has been named the American Rivers Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week following a standout performance against Simpson on Saturday, November 15.
Winkler helped the Prairie Wolves retake the lead with a 45-yard field goal with 3:36 remaining, marking the second-longest kick of his career. He also converted an extra point and handled punting duties, averaging 42 yards on three attempts, including a long of 54 yards.
This season, Winkler has made three of the five longest kicks in the conference, with successful attempts from 44, 45, and 47 yards. Despite the Prairie Wolves finishing the year 1-9 after a 22-23 heartbreaker at Abel Stadium, Winkler's performance earned him his first career weekly honor.
