Hastings, NE - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's tennis team wrapped up its second tournament of the fall season this weekend, competing in the Hastings College Bronco Invitational. The Prairie Wolves gained valuable match experience across all brackets, highlighted by several strong individual performances.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In the Men's "A" Bracket, Gavin Nichols and Sam Rademacher represented NWU. Rademacher opened with a victory over Hastings' Joel Carter before falling in a hard-fought three-set match to Enzo Naveda. Nichols dropped his first-round contest to Mats Vervloet but rebounded with a consolation win over Ben Hafer before being edged by Diego Infante in the third-place match.
In the "B" Bracket, Riley Voss advanced to the semifinals after a first-round win against Ethan Mins, while Zac Briggs bounced back from an opening loss to go 2–0 and capture the consolation bracket title.
In the "C" Bracket, Ian Armbrust advanced to the second round before falling to Miles Mollring, while Rylan Wobken dropped his opening match and later competed in a separate 16-player single-elimination draw, where he was defeated in the first round by Eli Dickenson.
In doubles action, NWU's A Team earned a first-round victory before falling in the quarterfinals to Grand View. The B Team reached the semifinals, while the C Team responded to an opening loss by winning the consolation bracket.
