Plucker Named A-R-C Offensive Player of the Week

LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan University freshman outside hitter Macy Plucker has been named the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 19, the conference announced Monday. This is Plucker's first career weekly honor and the second for NWU this season.

Plucker, a native of Canton, South Dakota, led the Prairie Wolves to a 2-1 record on the week, including wins over College of Saint Mary (NE) and Loras College, and a narrow five-set loss to #24 Dubuque. She averaged an impressive 4.08 kills per set, totaling 49 kills in three matches, along with 53.5 total points and a .250 hitting percentage. She also contributed defensively, averaging 2.75 digs per set, recording 33 in total.

Plucker began the week strong with 12 kills and a .205 hitting percentage, adding 13 digs, two blocks, and one assist for a total of 13 points against the College of Saint Mary (NE) Flames. She then paced the NWU offense with 17 kills in a four-set win over Loras College. Plucker delivered a career performance on the road against the nationally-ranked Dubuque Spartans, recording a career-high 20 kills, ten digs, and three block assists. She hit .370 against UD and totaled 21.5 points in the match.

NWU returns home next week for a rivalry non-conference contest against Doane University on Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT, followed by a senior day match against Wartburg College on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT. The Prairie Wolves are now 13-7 on the season.
