Men's Soccer Seeks Bounce Back Against Buena Vista, Luther

Lincoln, NE - Following a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to Central, Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer seeks bounce back performances against Buena Vista and Luther. 

LOCATION & MATCH TIME
Nebraska Wesleyan will host Buena Vista on Wednesday, October 22nd at 8:00 p.m. NWU will live stream the game and carry live stats. On Saturday, October 25th, Nebraska Wesleyan will take on Luther College at 2:30 p.m. Luther will live stream the game and carry live stats.

A LOOK AT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan suffered a tough last second 3-2 loss to Central in their last game and enters the second to last week of the regular season at 4-6-4 overall, and 2-2-1 in A-R-C play. The Black and Gold average 1.29 goals per game, and have scored 18 goals throughout the season. NWU has taken 163 shots, with 72 reaching the opposing goalkeeper. Nebraska Wesleyan runs a dynamic offense that has seen five players score multiple goals, with Franklyn Herasme and Max Matthies tallying five goals a piece. Defensively, NWU allows 2.14 goals per game. Graedon Hilton has made 49 saves, with a 63.6 save percentage.

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN MEN'S SOCCER TRADITION
The Prairie Wolves have claimed four conference championships and hold an all-time record of 300-238-50, highlighted by an undefeated 19-0 season in 1999. The last time the Prairie Wolves were crowned conference tournament champions was in 2001.

ELECTRIC DUO
Juniors Max Matthies and Franklyn Herasme have formed an electric one-two punch for Nebraska Wesleyan. Both players have recorded five goals on the season, while combining for 36 total shots. Herasme's goals have been spread throughout the season, as he chipped in two during NWU's season opening trip to Minnesota. Herasme also added goals against Cornell College, Simpson, and Central. Meanwhile, Matthies has exploded onto the scene recently as he has tallied four of his five goals in Nebraska Wesleyan's last five games. NWU is 1-1 when both players score in the same game, defeating Simpson 3-2, but losing to Central by the same margin. 

SCOUTING BUENA VISTA
Buena Vista enters Wednesday with a 5-8-1 record, and have lost their last four matches by a combined score of 11-1. The Beavers average 0.93 goals per game and have taken 171 shots. Defensively, Buena Vista allows 1.71 goals per game. The Beavers are led by Kelsey Resnick, in his third season.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST BUENA VISTA
Wednesday will mark the 21st meeting between Nebraska Wesleyan and Buena Vista. The Prairie Wolves lead the all-time series 18-1-1.

SCOUTING LUTHER
Luther enters this week with a 6-2-5 record. The Norse have won their last three games and sit unbeaten in A-R-C play. Prior to hosting NWU, Luther will visit Simpson College on Wednesday, October 22nd, at 7:30 p.m. The Norse average 2.15 goals per game and have taken 198 shots. Defensively, Luther allows 1.08 goals per game. The Norse are led by Chris Garcia-Prats, in his 18th season.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST LUTHER
Saturday will mark the 15th meeting between Nebraska Wesleyan and Luther. The Norse leads the all-time series 10-2-2.
