Men's Soccer to Host Wartburg and Central in Key Week of Conference Action

Lincoln, NE - Fresh off a 2-0 triumph over Dubuque, Nebraska Wesleyan returns to Abel Stadium to host Wartburg and Central in a key week of American Rivers Conference play.

GAME TIME, LOCATION, LIVE STREAM & LIVE STATS
Nebraska Wesleyan host Wartburg on Tuesday, October 14th and Central on Saturday, October 18th. Both matches will begin at 3:30 p.m. Nebraska Wesleyan will live stream both games and carry live stats.

A LOOK AT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan earned a 2-0 victory over Dubuque on Saturday to improve to 2-0-1 in American Rivers Conference action. The Black and Gold are 4-4-4 overall. The Prairie Wolves have scored 15 goals, and average 1.25 goals per game. NWU has taken 145 shots, with 66 being shots on goal. Nebraska Wesleyan generates offense from all areas of the field, with Franklyn Herasme, Max Matthies, Isaac Havemeier, Wil Tobaben, and Morgan Armagost each recording two or more goals. Herasme leads the team with four goals, while also recording a team high nine points. Owen Glogowski and Henry Spethman have emerged as key distributors, totalling three assists each. Defensively, the Black and Gold allow 2.08 goals per game, with Graedon Hilton making 42 saves on 65 shots.

Head Coach Brandon Bonilla is in his eighth season as the head coach of Nebraska Wesleyan, where he holds a 54-52-19 record. 

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN MEN'S SOCCER TRADITION
The Prairie Wolves have claimed four conference championships and hold an all-time record of 300-236-50, highlighted by an undefeated 19-0 season in 1999. The last time the Prairie Wolves were crowned conference tournament champions was in 2001.

300 ALL-TIME WINS
Saturday's 2-0 win over Dubuque marked the programs 300th all-time victory. The win symbolizes the effort and growth of the program during its illustrious 35 year history. In the prior 34 seasons, Nebraska Wesleyan has averaged 8.70 wins per year and looks to increase that winning percentage over the final weeks of the season.

SCOUTING WARTBURG
Wartburg is 4-6-1 through its first 11 matches, but holds a 2-1 record against A-R-C competition. The Knights were defeated by Central, 1-0, in their last match. Wartburg scores two goals per game and has taken 183 shots, with 85 being shots on goal. Defensively, the Knights have allowed 1.27 goals per game. Wartburg is led by Mike Madigan, in his ninth season

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST WARTBURG
Tuesday will mark the 16th meeting between Nebraska Wesleyan and Wartburg. The Knights lead the all-time series 8-5-2.

SCOUTING CENTRAL
Central enters this week 6-2-4, and is 2-0-2 in conference play. The Dutch defeated Wartburg, 1-0, in their last match. Prior to facing NWU, Central will take on Luther on Tuesday, October 14th at 7:30 p.m. The Dutch average 1.17 goals per game and have take 161 shots. Defensively, Central allows 1.08 goals per game. The Dutch are led by Garry Laidlawin his 27th season.

Saturday will mark the 24th meeting between Nebraska Wesleyan and Central. The Prairie Wolves lead the all-time series 11-9-3.
